10 Musts On Your 4th Of July Playlist!
I have been asked many times for songs that I would put on my Independence Day playlist, so I decided to give you the 10 I always play on this day. Keep in mind this is a Rock page so you won’t see any Country (They have a great list as well) or other genres on here. Now, the songs I chose are more about this great country, its spirit and attitude. I’m sure you will see the theme throughout the songs.
You may question why songs like Bruce Springsteen’s Born In The USA, The Guess Who’s American Woman or Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Fortunate Son and many others aren’t on it. For me it’s rather simple as they all present a negative view of this country. Lyrics mean a lot to me and if you choose to read them you will see where I am coming from. I don’t like when they take shots at the United States Of America and I won’t promote that. They may have America in their title and disguise it as such, but I don’t need your political view to distort what I think about this great nation of ours. That aside, I think you can use this list as a base for your playlists or parties, etc. These aren’t in any particular order, so you can set them up as you would want to. I hope you like the choices.
Sammy Hagar - Remember The Heroes
Grand Funk Railroad - We're an American Band
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - I Won’t Back Down
Jimi Hendrix - The Star Spangled Banner
The Charlie Daniels Band - This Ain't No Rag, It's a Flag
Disturbed - Indestructible
The Damn Yankees - Don’t Tread On Me
