Brian Murphy’s New Side Project The Christmas Time Believers Release “Santa Claus Is Com

Brian Murphy (One Time Mountain) has a new side project The Christmas Time Believers. You can follow them for future releases on their Facebook page here. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (Power Metal Version) is their first release. Apparently Murphy loves Christmas enough that he wants the music and the season to stay relevant. Who can blame him, it’s a great time of year. After listening the song I think he is perfect for the part. The Christmas Ambassador, you might say. It kind of has ring to it. But I digress, Murphy invited some of his  friends to help create his take on this classic. Who are they you might ask, well let me tell you, they are Max Roxton (7 Mazes), Kate Eppers and Liz Ivy. All three are worth you checking them out on your own. Murphy picked some mighty talented people here. I urge you to look them up and hear their music. That aside, I’m going to be selfish and say I would like to see this lineup stay around for a while.

Musically as the title states is the power metal version. You get an uptempo drum beat with melodic shredding of Murphy’s guitar. You get all this and the powerful vocals of the three I stated above. I love the exchange of vocals and what they each individually bring to the song. It is truly a unique way to deliver and update this well known song. The video is quarantine style but I think it captures the Christmas spirit. Check it out below.
