Cheap Trick Release New Single “Light Up The Fire” And It’s Fantastic!
Cheap Trick has released a new single Light Up The Fire. The band has a new album in the can and he’d back because of the pandemic, but no work on the name or its release. If this song is a sign of what’s to come then we are in for one helluva treat. This is one of the heavier songs they’ve done in a while. It even has some of their punk vibe, maybe they are going back to their roots for this one.
Robin Zander’s vocals are fantastic, Tom Peterson’s baseline is one of the best I’ve heard him play, accented by Daxx Nielson’s drums. The real hero of this track Rick Nielsen. His power chords and solo are euphoric. Maybe it’s me, but this is one great tune and very refreshing to hear. The one unfortunate thing here is there is no video, just a stream of the single.
