Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington as their front man have announced a tour and that they are working on a new EP. You can find more info and dates here:

Metallica have released a new trailer for their movie, Through The Never. You can watch it here:

For the record, I think what Rolling Stone magazine did by placing the Boston Marathon Terrorist on its cover looking like a rock star was just in poor taste. On my Facebook page and Twitter, I said to boycott the magazine. I still think it is not worthy of your hard earned money. Never liked the magazine with its snobbish attitude towards what the writers consider good rock and roll music. This just shows they have no class what so ever. I really hope this hits them hard. CVS pulled all of the issues of its shelves and I hear that other businesses are doing the same. I know they won’t go away but they should feel the pain they caused.

In case you care dept. Kings Of Leon have a new song out called Supersoaker. You can hear it here:  That’s all I got for you on this one.

Avenged Sevenfold have released the title track of their new album, Hail To King. It comes out August 27. You can listen to the just released song here:

Paul Rodgers (Bad Company) has plans  to release a cover album of soul songs this year (why do a whole album of covers, I just hate that, one maybe two songs but a whole album, forget it, It’s a bad trend now). Also he is working on new material to be released early next year.

Voivod released Target Earth video from the album of the same album. You can watch it here:

Tool have stated that they will release a new record in 2014.

Alter Bridge is going to announce a one off show in the U.S. on Monday July 22. In other surprising news, you will hear Mark Tremonti actually sing a track on their soon to be released album.

Slash has announced his movie soundtrack to his debut film release. The movie is Nothing Left To Fear, starring Anne Heche. I could give you the choice of the movie trailer but I think you would rather hear the title track with Slash and Myles Kennedy on vocals. You can listen to it here:

The movie comes out on October 4th.

If you care, AFI has released a new song called I Hope You Suffer. Listen to it here:

Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013 will be coming to selective theaters in the U.S. on August 13. It will feature guitarists from all over the world. It was filmed in Madison Square Garden from his two night performance there.  You can watch the trailer here:

Last week’s Rockucation question was: Quiet Riot recorded two cover songs by this band. One of them put Quiet Riot on everyone’s radar. The second one was a hit also. Can you name the two songs and the band they are from? I couldn’t believe how much people struggled with this one but we did get the correct answer. The answer comes from two people who teamed up for this (first ever for the rock report). The answer is Slade, Cum On Feel The Noize and Momma Weer All Crazee Now.  The two people who brought it to you are: Suzanne Sledge of Atlanta, GA and Ace Aceto of  Coventry, RI.

If you are a Rob Zombie fan, you may want to make sure you see him on this tour. He is recording it for his first ever live DVD release. You can get dates here: While you’re there, check out his cover of Grand Funk’s We’re An American Band.

Revolution Harmony, which features Serj Tankian and Devin Townsend, released a video for We Are. You can check that out here:

Remember to check out this weeks poll and vote!

You can hear the new debut album Fight Or Flight (features members of Disturbed) here:

Asking Alexandria released a new song called Killing You from their new record coming out on August 6th. The album is called From Death To Destiny. You can listen to it here:

Rise Against is streaming their new Journey cover, Any Way You Want It. Really, that’s what they decided to choose from them. The vocals are terrible by the way. Just my opinion.  This will be along with their new album release on September 10 called Long Forgotten Songs; B-Sides & Covers 2000-2013.  A 26 song collection. If this song is any sign of what the album is going to sound like, maybe they should be forgotten. But why another covers album, I ask again, doesn’t anyone want to write originals anymore?  Listen for yourselves here:

Lamb Of God, Killswitch Engage and Testament have announced a fall tour. You can get more details here:

Remember to tune in tomorrow night too hear Seth’s Rock Addiction on 90.3 WRIU FM or stream it here at Monday nights 9 pm to Midnight.

This week’s Rockucation question is: When Ritchie Blackmore left Deep Purple, what band did he form and what was the lead singer’s name that he recruited for it.
