Johnny I. Band All Star Blues Revival Volume 1 & Volume 2!

Volume 1 Volume 2 1- Life Is Better 1- Avery’s Tune 2- Late Night 2- She’s Gone
I was very excited when these releases were shared with me. I enjoyed each of these tracks and played them many times. John Ingrassia knows how to play the Blues. I would be doing him a disservice to say he sounds like so and so. His sound is unique because he was able to blend his influences into his own playing style. It is very pleasing to the ear and I think if you like the blues, you will definitely want a copy of this.
I’ll admit now that my favorite of all 4 of them is She’s Gone. They are all worth your time. A nice surprise on these two EP’s is the guest musicians on them. Let me break them down for you;
Vol. 1
1- Life Is Better
Billy Cox- Bass (Hendrix Band of Gypsys) Chris Layton- Drums (Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble) Reese Wynans- Keyboards (Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble)
2- Late Night
Jaimoe- Drums (The Allman Brothers Band) Tommy Shannon- Bass/Mix (Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble) Bruce Katz- Keyboards (Worked with many artists)
Vol. 2
1- Avery’s Tune
Glen Graham- Drums (Blind Melon) Brad Smith- Bass (Blind Melon)
2- She’s Gone
Matt Sorum- Drums (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver) Gilby Clarke- Guitar/Mix (Guns N’ Roses) Teddy Andreadis- Harp & Keyboards (Guns N’ Roses, Slash’s Snakepit)
The only thing I would complain about these two volumes is that they were just EP’s. I would have loved to hear a full album. I’m looking forward to future releases. That aside, you can learn more about him here. You can also purchase these two volumes here. I could only find one clip of the Johnny I Band and it’s the jamming with Jaimoe. You can watch it below.
