Hercules Morse- Asleep At The Wheel!

The UK puts out some great music, I must say. I recently came across this band and like the song and the video. This song is from their soon to be released EP called Equine Size Comparison. I think you should check them out. You can learn more about the band here.

Rockucation

Last week’s Rockucation question: What do Breaking Benjamin, Halestorm, Cinderella, Poison, Live, Brittney Fox, Fuel and Hall & Oates all have in common?

What did they have in common? Answer: They were all are from Pennsylvania

Winner/s:  No one got the answer this week.

This week’s Rockucation question is: Bob Dylan’s Hurricane, Rob Zombie’s American Witch, The Grateful Dead’s Casey Jones, Iron Maiden’s Longest Day, Crosby, Stills & Nash’s Ohio, Megadeth’s Public Enemy No. 1, Deep Purple’s Smoke On The Water, U2’s Sunday Bloody Sunday, and Led Zeppelin’s When The Levee Breaks, to name a few, all have something in common, what is it?

Answer Question Here Think you know this music question? Take a guess by clicking the link above! If you answer it correctly, your name will be featured in next week’s Rockucation section.

Music News

Kiss Kiss released a performance clip from their Kiss Rocks Vegas concert film. This is Detroit Rock City. The CD/DVD comes out on August 26. You can watch it here.

Slash Slash, featuring Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators, did a cover of Elton John’s Rocket Man. They did it to help raise money for Eddie Braun. He is attempting to recreate the jump that Evel Knievel failed across Snake River Canyon. That being said, you have to donate to hear it or get it. Get details here.

Marty Friedman

Marty Friedman (Megadeth), released another video this week from his current album, Inferno. This song is called Meathook. Check it out here.

The Dead Daisies

The Dead Daisies have put another song from their just released album, Make Some Noise. Check out Last Time I Saw The Sun here.

Ratt

There is a rumor that the remaining members of Ratt (minus Bobby Blotzer) are thinking of reuniting and making new music and touring. It’s just a rumor at this point.

Of Mice And Men

Of Mice And Men released a new song this week via SiriusXm Radio. The song is called Real. It’s from their forthcoming album, Cold World, out on September 9. Check it out here.

Opeth Opeth have a new album called Sorceress. It’s out September 30, but they have started a studio web series for the making of it. You can check out the second episode here. You can also check out the title track here.

Motley Crue You can watch and get The End by Motley Crue on Pay Per View here.

Blackfoot Blackfoot (yes that Blackfoot) have a new album that came out last Friday. The band was handpicked by Ricky Medlocke (currently in Lynyrd Skynyrd). They released the title track, Southern Native. Keep in mind that Medlocke isn’t in the band. He did co-write and produce, as well as played on some tracks, but isn’t a member. This is something similar to what Kiss wants to do. Have the band go on without them. Anyway the song is good and you can check it out here.

The Devin Townsend Project

The Devin Townsend Project has a new album coming out, Transcendence, on September 9. They released a new song from it called, Failure. You can check it out here.

Jason Newsted

Jason Newsted (Metallica) is doing an acoustic tour with The Chophouse Band. He no longer will be doing heavy metal like he used to. You can get the tour dates here.

Sideman: Long Road To Glory

The documentary, Sideman: Long Road To Glory, is beginning to make its way into theaters. If you can catch it, you should. Learn some Rock and Blues history. See who they influenced and see where their passions come from. The film is an amazing look at the past through these sidemen, that way take for granted today. Like they say in the film, without the Blues, you wouldn’t have Rock And Roll. You can watch the trailer and get more info here.

PSA

Your PSA this week is that Marilyn Manson put out a song/video with country rocker Shooter Jennings.

The Quireboys

The Quireboys released a new single and title track this week called Twisted Love. The EP is due out on August 19. You can check it out here.

Gregg Allman

Gregg Allman has canceled his tour due to serious health issues. Hope he gets well soon.

Flipp

Flipp has released 4 copies via Ebay of their limited edition Live DVD July 22, 1995 @ 400 Bar, Minneapolis, MN. Check out Rock Steady Records Facebook page for other future deals here. You can check it out the deal here.
