Music News For The Week Of August 23, 2015!


God Gave Rock And Roll To You is a movie coming out on the band Tyger, later becoming Iron Cross. They were a Christian metal band that had struggles, similar to Stryper. It has nothing to do with the Argent/Kiss song by the same name. You can learn more about it and watch the trailer here

The Hard Drive Fall Out Tour announced its lineup. It features All That Remains and We Came As Romans. You can get dates here

Shinedown released another song this week from their album, Threat To Survival, out on September 18. The song is State Of My Head. Listen to it here

Supergroup Metal Allegiance released another webisode of making the new song, Triangulum. I should say this is more of an all-star band because stars come in and out of the band. But check out the episode here

The Scorpions are streaming their concert at the Barclay Center in NY on September 12,. They partnered with Yahoo. You can track it here

Burn Halo released a new song this week called Until The End. It’s from their soon to be released album, Wolves Of War, out on September 4. Listen to it here

Trivium is on a roll as it seems like they are releasing one video a week. Anyway, this is Until The World Goes Cold and it’s from their album, Silence In The Snow, out on October 2. You can watch it here

Gary Cherone’s (Extreme/Van Halen) side project, Hurtsmile, released a new track this week. It’s called Hello I Must Be Going. It’s from their current album, Retrogrenade. Check it out here

Fear Factory released a new song this week called Regenerate. It’s from their current album, Genexus. You can watch it here

Supergroup Hollywood Vampires, featuring Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, David Grohl and Johnny Depp to name a few, released their version of the Who’s My Generation. The album comes out on September 11. Check out the track here

Last week’s Rockucation question:  This bassist has been around the music scene for a long while. He was a roadie for Jimi Hendrix, played in Hawkwind, he has a rockabilly side project and is the leader of one of metal’s three piece bands, which he formed in 1975. Who is he? The answer comes o us from Pawtucket, RI. Phylis Bourque gave it to us, it was the honorable Lemmy from Motorheaed.

Iron Maiden is hinting towards a jumbo tour and if you can’t wait for that, they have the Speed Of Light game you can play on their website. You can check that out here

Death Dealer released another song off their soon to be released sophomore album, Hallowed Ground, out on October 2. This is their song called Break The Silence and you can check it out here

Buckcherry released a new video called Tight Pants. I may be biased but I think it’s worth watching. It’s from their new album currently out now called Rock ‘N’ Roll. Watch it here

Random thought, maybe we need to start a support group for whining rock stars. I nominate Bill Ward of Black Sabbath and Sammy Hagar. It seems of late they only talk about what could have been and why they aren’t in the band instead of moving on.

The Winery Dogs have finally released something new. This one is called Oblivion. It’s from their sophomore album, Hot Streak, out on October 2. I can’t wait for that one. You can listen to it here

Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake) has released samples of his first side project called 13. The album, Dying To Live, features a who’s who of guests like Derek Sherinian, Russell Allen and Tony Franklin, just to name some. It comes out October 16. You can listen to the samples here

The Struts have released a new song off their new EP, Have You Heard, out now. The song is called Could Have Been Me. Check it out here

The Tedeschi Trucks band released their live version of the Box Tops’ The Letter. Nothing about a future album or anything, just this release. You can watch it here

In the “In Case You Care Department,” Steven Tyler will be guesting in the TV show, Nashville, on the September 23 episode. You can preview the premiere here

Motorhead released their version of The Rolling Stones’ Sympathy For The Devil, on their new album that came out Friday, August 28. Check it out here

Billboard magazine premiered The Faces’ unreleased track, Whole Lotta Woman. It’s from their box set titled Faces: You Can Make Me Dance, Sing Or Anything (1970-1975). It came out Friday. Listen to it here
