Paul Kantner So the trend continues this week. Paul Kantner, founding member and guitarist of Jefferson Airplane, died of a heart attack at the age of 74. He helped inspire the San Francisco music scene and yes, he is considered a legend and icon. January 2016 has started off real bad for aging rockers. RIP, Mr. Kantner!
Hellyeah
Hellyeah released a teaser trailer for a song from their next album. The song has #Human. I am guessing that it is either the name of the song or the new album or both. You can check it out here.

Black Sabbath is selling a CD at their shows which features 4 unreleased songs from the 13 album sessions and 4 live tracks. If you search YouTube, etc, you can find it.
In other Black Sabbath news, it looks like Geezer Butler is challenging Bill Ward on his ability to tour. Bill denies it. Black Sabbath apparently offered him a few shows, Bill Ward denies it. Plus he would want to do the tour and not dis the fans by doing only a few shows and depriving his fans. I guess you won’t see him with boys at this juncture.
Vince Neil (Motley Crue) is the first recruit for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s version of Celebrity Apprentice. No air date at this time.
The Metal Show, hosted by Eddie Trunk on VH1, was canceled.Trunk is looking for another station to pick it up. But as of now, no new home for the show.
KISS is closing their original Monster Mini Golf course in Las Vegas and moving it to the Rio in Las Vegas. The first one closes February 6. The new one opens in the Spring. You can get more details here.
In case you care, Sammy Hagar tweeted Happy Birthday to Eddie Van Halen and hoped he was doing good and surprisingly Eddie tweeted back, “Thanks Sammy, hope you’re well, too.” Everyone is all excited about it. Maybe we will have another reunion in our midsts……..or not.
AC/DC have started a lawsuit against bootleggers who sell counterfeit merchandise of them. It starts next week when they launch their U.S. tour.
Guns And Roses took to sarcasm to Steven Tyler taking credit for urging them to do a reunion, also stating that Jon Bon Jovi did as well. This is from Twitter; “Guns And Roses would like to respectfully thank the many people taking credit for our upcoming shows and everything in between. Especially those whom we haven’t spoken to in numerous years who, through the power of media, have somehow served a pivotal, even if non existent role. We, and the fans thank you!”
Banger Films announced that they are making a ZZ Top documentary. No release date yet.
