Paul Kantner So the trend continues this week. Paul Kantner, founding member and guitarist of Jefferson Airplane, died of a heart attack at the age of 74. He helped inspire the San Francisco music scene and yes, he is considered a legend and icon. January 2016 has started off real bad for aging rockers. RIP, Mr. Kantner!


Hellyeah released a teaser trailer for a song from their next album. The song has #Human. I am guessing that it is either the name of the song or the new album or both. You can check it out here.

Steven Tyler released another country song this week. This one is called, Red, White And You. Listen to the audio here.

Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Springsteen is giving away for a limited time a download of his January 19 Chicago show. Get it here. He also added more dates to The River tour, in which you will find there as well.

Iggy Pop And Josh Homme

Iggy Pop and Josh Homme have released another track off their soon to be released album, Post Pop Depression. This song is called Break Into Your Heart. Listen to it here. They also announced a tour, Get those dates here

Cradle Of Filth Cradle Of Filth had to cancel their first four shows in North America because of visa issues.

Amon Amarth

Amon Amarth are releasing a new album titled Jomsviking, out on March 25. You can hear First Kill from it here.

Wolfmother have released the video for their title track, Victorious, out on February 24. It’s a weird sci-fi video but you can check it out here.

Lords Of Black released a new single this week that features the vocalist for the current version of Rainbow, Ronnie Romero. The track is Everything You’re Not. The new album, simply titled II, will be out on March 18. Watch the video here.

Richard Fortus and Dizzy Reed are leaving the Dead Daisies. The reason they are leaving is to pursue a momentous occasion, which is being interpreted as them being part of the Guns And Roses reunion. That being said, Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake) will be joining the Dead Daisies.

Rob Zombie

Rob Zombie premiered his new song, Well, Everybody Is Fucking In A U.F.O. He debuted it on Sirius XM Radio. The album, The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser, will be out on April 29. You can check out the track here.

Sevendust And Trivium

Sevendust and Trivium announced a co-headlining tour. It starts in April. You can get dates  here.


Saxon are releasing their box set, Eagles And Dragons, on March 18. The band have released a trailer for it, watch it here.


Buckcherry released a new song that features country music star Gretchen Wilson. It’s from the digital deluxe edition of their album, Rock ‘N’ Roll, that came out this past Friday. You can check out The Feeling Never Dies here.

Steel Panther

Daughtry has a greatest hits album coming out on February 12. It is titled, It’s Not Over… The Hits So Far. You can also pre-order it at now and get a second disc called Acoustic Live-2015. He has added two new songs and one with a lyric video. The two songs are Go Down and Torches. Torches is what he released, you can watch it here.


Voivod will be releasing a digital EP on February 26, called Post Society. They just put out the title track, which you can listen to here.

Blackberry Smoke

Blackberry Smoke released an acoustic version of their song, Ain’t Much Left Of Me. It’s from their performance at Music City Roots Live From The Factory. You can watch it here.

SRR Quick Hits

Black Sabbath is selling a CD at their shows which features 4 unreleased songs from the 13 album sessions and 4 live tracks. If you search YouTube, etc, you can find it.

In other Black Sabbath news, it looks like Geezer Butler is challenging Bill Ward on his ability to tour. Bill denies it. Black Sabbath apparently offered him a few shows, Bill Ward denies it. Plus he would want to do the tour and not dis the fans by doing only a few shows and depriving his fans. I guess you won’t see him with boys at this juncture.

Vince Neil (Motley Crue) is the first recruit for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s version of Celebrity Apprentice. No air date at this time.

The Metal Show, hosted by Eddie Trunk on VH1, was canceled.Trunk is looking for another station to pick it up. But as of now, no new home for the show.

KISS is closing their original Monster Mini Golf course in Las Vegas and moving it to the Rio in Las Vegas. The first one closes February 6. The new one opens in the Spring. You can get more details here.

In case you care, Sammy Hagar tweeted Happy Birthday to Eddie Van Halen and hoped he was doing good and surprisingly Eddie tweeted back, “Thanks Sammy, hope you’re well, too.” Everyone is all excited about it. Maybe we will have another reunion in our midsts……..or not.

AC/DC have started a lawsuit against bootleggers who sell counterfeit merchandise of them. It starts next week when they launch their U.S. tour.

Guns And Roses took to sarcasm to Steven Tyler taking credit for urging them to do a reunion, also stating that Jon Bon Jovi did as well. This is from Twitter; “Guns And Roses would like to respectfully thank the many people taking credit for our upcoming shows and everything in between. Especially those whom we haven’t spoken to in numerous years who, through the power of media, have somehow served a pivotal, even if non existent role. We, and the fans thank you!”

Banger Films announced that they are making a ZZ Top documentary. No release date yet.
