Music News For The Week Of January 5, 2014!

Black Sabbath has partnered with Converse to have a new collection of sneakers, including their logo and album covers such as paranoid. They will cost around $70.  They will be available at selected Journey stores or you can buy them at http://www.converse.com

Motley Crue will be announcing their farewell tour on January 28, in Los Angeles. It’s being billed as RIP: All Bad Things Must Come To An End. But like most bands they usually find a way to come back so let’s see.

Adrian Vandenberg (former guitarist for Whitesnake), will be releasing a new album with his new band Vandenberg Moonkings. He had asked David Coverdale to participate, which he does. The song is Sailing Ships. The band has released a couple of teaser videos if you want to know what they sound like. Album comes out February 24. Heart will be releasing Fanatic Live From Caesar’s Coliseum, filmed and recorded in Windsor, Ontario. It will come out on CD and DVD on February 25.

The Allman Brothers Band took quite a hit this week when both Warren Hayes and Derek Trucks announced that they were leaving the group at the end of the year. Haynes will continue with Gov’t Mule and Trucks with the Tedeschi/Trucks Band. No word if the Allman Brothers band will replace them or how they will continue.

Winger will be releasing a new album this Spring called Better Days Are Coming.

If you are planning on seeing Lamb Of God this tour, you won’t be seeing guitarist Mark Morton. He will be dealing with a family emergency. Filling in for him will be Paul Waggoner of Between The Buried And Me.

A new Biopic about Greg Allman called Midnight Rider, will feature actor William Hurt as him.

Dream Theater announced an IOS App called, Dreamtheater360. It will offer fans, yes you guessed, a 360 interactive experience. It costs $9.99.

Motorhead’s management company, Singer Entertainment is looking for musicians to form a new band. They are looking for a guitarist, a bass player and a drummer to team up with Joe Colover. Rumor has it that Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will be making an appearance on The David Letterman Show to celebrate the Beatles 50th Anniversary invading America. It would be February 7th the same day the arrived back in the day.
