Music News For The Week Of July 13, 2014!

As you know, Yes is releasing a new album on July 21. The album is called Heaven And Earth. This is a lyric video from it titled, In A World Of Our Own. You can watch here:

Apparently they are making a movie about Rush. The have casted Tom Hanks as Neal Peart and yes he is playing the drums in the movie. The cast director is having difficulty finding someone to look and sound remotely like Geddy Lee, so they are pushing the release date to 2016. The movie is tentatively titled, Moving Pictures: The Rush Story.

Looking for a new band to check out, try Kill It Kid. This is there video for I’ll Be The First. They have an album called You Owe Me Nothing, coming out soon. Watch it here:

KISS announced their Vegas Residency! November 5 through 23rd. It’s at the Hard Rock Cafe And Casino.  You can watch the trailer here:

With the success of The Winery Dogs, Richie Kotzen is going to release a box set. It will include 1 DVD and 2 CDs. It is called The Essential Richie Kotzen. It comes out September 2. Keep in mind he has 18 solo albums. But this will come with all the extras that these things usually do.

Ronnie Platt (Shooting Star) will be replacing Steve Walsh of Kansas, starting in September. Kansas announced this week.

Phil Rudd (AC/DC) is releasing his first solo album, called Head Job on August 29. He has a new lyric video out for it and the song is called Repo Man and I think you will see and hear the AC/DC influence. Check it out here:

Johnny Winter, brother of Edgar Winter, passed this week at the age of 70. He is truly one of the legends of the Blues. Many of the rock world consider him a hero. He will be missed by many. RIP!
