Led Zeppelin released an alternate version of When The Levee Breaks for their Coda remastered release. It comes out on July 31. You can listen to it here:

Queen have released a trailer for their new box set coming out on September 25. It’s called “The Studio Collection” Special Edition Vinyl Box Set. You can watch it here:

Ann Wilson of Heart announced that she has a solo EP coming out in the Fall. But in the meantime she announced a mini tour for it. You can get those dates here:

Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge, Creed) has announced a tour with Trivium. You can get dates here:

Monster Magnet will be releasing on October 2, Cobras And Fire (The Mastermind Redux). They released the track Mastermind ‘69. You can listen to it here:

Queensryche released Arrow Of Time. It’s from their forthcoming album, Condition Human, out on October 2. You can listen to it here:

Your PSA this week is that there is a remix version out of Pac Man Fever for the movie Pixels. You know the song by Buckner & Garcia. Yeah, I wasn’t thrilled with it. But you can look it up.

Swedish rockers Black Trip have released a new track, Berlin Model 32. If you haven’t checked out the band you should. Especially of you love the 80’s rock scene. This is from their second album, Shadowline, out on August 28. Check it out here:

Alice In Chains will release a biography about the band on August 4th. It is titled Alice In Chains: The Untold Story.

Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue, Sixx A.M.) has started a new blog for new bands. I think that’s great since he has a huge following and can get some bands the much needed exposure. But in his first blog, he mentions The Struts. I just want to state that I mentioned them a while back, on these very pages. Just validation that I know what I’m talking about! Anvil is recording a new album and want to work directly with you, the fans, as opposed to the record labels. They have started a Pledgemusic campaign. You can learn and be part of the process here:

I found this news interesting this week. Like we have in the past with Led Zeppelin and others, this week reported that Dangerous Minds pointed out that Paranoid, by Black Sabbath and Half Life- Get Down are remotely similar. As Half Life’s song was recorded just before Black Sabbath recorded their debut album and Paranoid. Half Life released Get Down in June of 1969. Black Sabbath recorded their album in June of 1970. It seems very odd that Tony Iommi would have ripped off this riff, considering how close the timeline is, but one never knows. You be the judge. Here are the two songs and let me know what you think. Supergroup Teenage Time Killers released another track from their soon to be released debut album, Greatest Hits Vol. 1, out on July 31.  The song is called Crowned By The Light Of The Sun. Listen to it here:

Last week’s Rockucation question was:  What do the current versions of the following bands have in common: The Misfits, Quiet Riot, Sepultura, In Flames, GWAR, Blackfoot, Stratovarius and Napalm Death?.  No one got this one. The answer is that they have no original members currently in the band.

Five Finger Death Punch have released a new video for their song, Hell To Pay. They put it out only on Facebook. It’s for their new album, Got Your Six, out on September 4th. Check it out here:

Guitarist of Ozzy Osbourne, Gus G. has released the title track of his new solo album: Brand New Revolution. Out now. The album features some songs song by Jeff Scott Soto (Yngwie Malmsteen, Journey and Talisman). You can watch it here:

After The Burial’s guitarist, Justin Lowe, was found dead on July 21. He was 32 years old. He reportedly went missing on July 18. A hitchhiker found the body. Too young to die for a rocker. RIP, Justin.

Praying Mantis put out another song off their soon to be released album titled Legacy, out on August 21. The track is All I see. Check it out here:

HIM replaced drummer Mika Karppinen, known as Gas Lipstick. The new drummer is Jukka “Kosmo” Kroger. He played with Ihmiset. No, I never heard of him or his former band. But here you go. New drummer in HIM.

Buckcherry have released a new song this week called The Madness. It’s from their soon to be released album, Rock ‘n’Roll, out on August 21. You can watch it here:

It’s a tough week for drummers as Avenged Sevenfold just split with their drummer, Arin Ilejay. No replacement announced yet. But they are moving forward.

Katalyst released a new song, The Black Sheep. It’s for the album, Of Ghosts And Gods, out on July 31. You can check it out here:

Don Henley is releasing a new album out on September 25, titled Cass County.  He released two songs for the pre-ordering of the new album. They are Take A Picture Of This and That Old Flame (with Martina McBride). It tends to be more country than rock sounding thus far. But you can pre-order and watch the videos here:
