Apparently Joe Perry, Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp were recording secretly with Paul McCartney. No word if this material will ever be released and who else may have been on it.

ZZ Top released another video from the their Live At Montreux 2013 DVD. This one is Gimme All Your Lovin’, you can watch it here:

Stevie Nicks will be releasing a solo album called 24 Karat Gold-Songs From The Vault. It comes out on October 7. It isn’t new material as it is songs she started throughout her career and has finally recorded.

Eric Clapton is releasing a tribute CD. This one is called Eric Clapton & Friends: The Breeze, An Appreciation Of JJ Cale. It will be out on July 29. It features Tom Petty, Jack White, John Mayer and many others. You can hear a couple of tracks here:

Michael Sweet (Stryper) and George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch MOB, and so many others) have formed a new supergroup called Sweet Lynch. They plan on releasing new material and touring on 2015.

Speaking of Michael Sweet, Stryper will be releasing a live DVD/CD called, Live At The Whiskey, on September 23rd.

Last week’s Rockucation question was: What band did Kirk Hammett form before joining Metallica? Also, did he ever record a record with them, if he did which one was it? Chuck Dressler from Warwick, RI, got it right this week. The band was Exodus, though he did record a demo tape with them, he never recorded an album.

Tom Keifer (Cinderella), released a new song from his current solo album, The Way Life Goes. The track is called It’s Not Enough. You can watch it here:

Voyageur Press is releasing a new book titled The Big Book Of Hair Metal: The Illustrated Oral History Of Heavy Metal’s Debauched Decade. It comes out on August 15.  The book is authored by Martin Popoff.

Queen have released a video of Stone Cold Crazy, from their soon to be released Live At The Rainbow ‘74. This is one band I wished I had seen in all of their glory. Freddy Mercury was one of the greats. Check it out here:

Weezer, who has an album coming out on September 30th as you know called, Everything Will Be Alright In The End. The single is Back To The Shack and you can listen to it here:

I don’t know why, outside of celebrating the band’s catalog, but Creedence Clearwater Revival released a brand new lyric video for Green River. You can watch and read here:

Random Thought this week. Since Jimmy Page wants to tour, look for a reunion with the Firm. A real supergroup in its day.  It featured Paul Rodgers (Free, Bad Company), Jimmy Page (needs no reference), Chris Slade (AC/DC) and Tony Franklin (Blue Murder).
