Music News For The Week Of July 27, 2014!

Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson opened The Sonisphere Festival with a recreation of the 100th anniversary of dog fighting. You can watch it here:

Primus announced that they will release a new album on October 21st, entitled Primus And The Chocolate Factory. They will follow it up with a tour.

Geoff Tate, who lost the right to keep the name of Queensryche, now has come up with the name of his band and it will be called Operation:Mindcrime.

California Breed have announced tour dates,but Jason Bonham won’t be joining the tour. He is too busy with Sammy Hagar and Friends and rumor has it may be working with Phil Collins. That being said, the band has picked up Queens Of The Stone Age drummer, Joey Castillo. Sounds like there are already issues if the original band can’t get out and tour. They will be opening for Alter Bridge in the begining of their tour and you can get the dates  here:

SIXX: AM have a release date for their new album, Modern Vintage. It will be October 7th. Here is the first single, Gotta Get It Right, you can watch it here:

Exodus’s new album Blood In, Blood Out will be out October 14.

I’m not sure how many of you are aware of the Guitar Center Sessions, where they talk to bands and get exclusive performances, so I put the link here, and this week it’s Alice In Chain. Check them and others out here:

If you are a Trans Siberian Orchestra and Savatage fan and if you will be in Europe for the Wacken Festival. This reunion will be a one time only show in 2015.

Led Zeppelin will continue releasing reissues of their past records with all the extra goodies that all bands do. The next up are IV and Houses Of The Holy on October 28.

Status Quo guitarist Rick Parfitt is in the hospital so all dates of their current tour have been canceled. No details on his illness.

Your PSA this week is The Melvins will have a new album out on October 14, called Hold It In. Unfortunately they will tour it as well.

Charm City Devils have released a new video for their song Shots. Their new album Battles will be out September 23rd. You can watch the video here:

Dick Wagner, a well known guitarist for Alice Cooper and Lou Reed passed away at the age of 71 from respiratory failure. I personally met him at a KISS Convention (he played guitar on Sweet Pain, on KISS’s Destroyer). He was very kind and I enjoyed speaking with him. RIP Dick Wagner!

Machine Head have announced a tour with Children Of Bodom, Epica and Battlecross. This will start in the fall and you can get dates here:

If you know anyone that has DirectTV, you may want to be at their house for November 9th to watch the Slash, Featuring Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators special, Live From The Roxy. This will be taken from series of shows for Guitar Center’s 50th birthday. They will be various shows at all the famous clubs on the strip during the month of September to help launch the new record, World On Fire.

Limp Bizkit have released Endless Slaughter from their soon to be released album, Stampede Of The Disco Elephants. Check it out here:

Opeth has streamed their new song Eternal Rains from their soon to be released album Pale Communion out on August 26th. You can hear it here:

Bret Michaels has done several Nissan car commercials that feature him singing Lionel Richie and Diana Ross songs. All I can say it is horrible and you can look them up but trust me, you will regret it.
