Music News For The Week Of May 19, 2013!

Looks like System Of A Down has a little Queensryche thing going on. You remember when Queensryche kicked out Geoff Tate? Well, bass player Shavo Obadjian came out last week and said that the band is ready to go and record and tour but lead vocalist Serj Tankian is the problem, working on his projects, etc. Shavo went on to say maybe that SOAD should look for a new singer and make music and tour, asking fans for their support. Later this week the band on their site stated that Shavo had a bad day and they believe that only that the four of them can continue as SOAD. No word from Serj but maybe this will spark a new album.

In the never ending saga that is Stone Temple Pilots: as you know Scott Weiland says Stone Temple Pilots aren’t STP without him, because he owns the name. Last week’s Rockucation question was: What band did Mark Farner front and what groupie did the band make famous? The answer comes from Rich Aubin, of Jackson, N.J. Which was Grand Funk Railroad and Sweet, Sweet Connie was the groupie.
