Music News For Week Of August 4, 2013!

Korn is streaming their new single, Never Never, from their up and coming album Paradigm Shift. It comes out on October 18th. You can stream the song here:

Fates Warning will be releasing a new record called Darkness In A Different Light on October 1st. Meanwhile they have announced tour dates for that record and you can get them here:

Chris Cornell has announced a solo tour called Songbook Solo Acoustic Tour. You can get dates here:

Looks like Rage Against The Machine will be hosting the L.A. Rising concert in August 2014. Keep an eye out for that one. Last year they did it at the L.A. Coliseum, with bands like the Muse and Rise Against.

Jane’s Addiction has released a new song for their current tour in the Uproar Festival. The song is Another Soulmate and you can hear it here:

Ok, the trailer for the movie about the CBGB club is out. Now this is not like that terrible movie Rock Of Ages, this is a true story. A historic club that put many bands on the map. You can take a look at the trailer and you will see what I’m talking about. If you want to get more familiar about the story of the club, Google it, because it is worth it.  Check out the trailer here:

Devildriver released a video called The Appetite for their up and coming album Winter Kills that comes out on August 27th. You can watch the video here:

KISS has just hired Alan Parker to do a definitive documentary about the band and its history. I know, we all heard it before, but let’s see if Parker goes beyond Paul and Gene’s version of KISS events and goes and speaks to all the members of the band, past and present, that are still alive. The name of the documentary is You Wanted The Best You Got The Best. It just started filming in NY. No release date out yet.

Humble Pie’s Rockin’ The Fillmore will be coming out as a 4 disc set on October 29. Peter Frampton and Jerry Shirley oversaw the production. It is recordings over the two-night performance at the Fillmore (5/28 /71 and 5/29/71).

Robert Plant joined the social media world this week. He has a new website and has a Twitter account, etc. You can see his website here:

The super group, The Rides, released a new video called Seek And Destroy. You can watch it here:

Bob Dylan recorded a song called Pretty Saro (many times I understand) but never released it. You can now hear it before it gets released on August 27. It will be on a box set called Another Self Portrait, it will feature 35 tracks. You can hear Pretty Saro here:

The Answer released the video for Spectacular. It’s from their album New Horizon. Keep in mind this video was banned on You Tube. It won’t take long for you to see why. You can watch it here:

Sammy Hagar released Knockdown Dragout video which features his friends like Kid Rock and Joe Satriani. You can watch it here:

Def Leppard is going to release Viva! Hysteria-Live At This Joint, Las Vegas. It will be released on October 22. It is 65 minutes long.

Halestorm released a new video about their past and present. It is called Here’s To Us. Mind you it’s explicit.  It’s from their album The Strange Case Of…… Check it out here:

Mike Mushok, guitarist of Staind, has hooked up with Jam Play and is going to give guitar lessons. You can see the promo video here:

Ted Nugent, besides being into politics, still does great music. He is releasing a 2 CD/DVD live set called Ultralive Ballistic on October 22nd.

Skid Row released a new lyric video this week called This Is Killing Me from their album United World Rebellion, Chapter One. You can watch it here:

Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights just added a scary 3D maze that features Black Sabbath: 13 3D. It debuts on September 20th. It will also feature other Black Sabbath tracks like Iron Man and War Pigs.
