Music News For Week Of August 4, 2013!

Looks like Rage Against The Machine will be hosting the L.A. Rising concert in August 2014. Keep an eye out for that one. Last year they did it at the L.A. Coliseum, with bands like the Muse and Rise Against.

Ok, the trailer for the movie about the CBGB club is out. Now this is not like that terrible movie Rock Of Ages, this is a true story. A historic club that put many bands on the map. You can take a look at the trailer and you will see what I’m talking about. KISS has just hired Alan Parker to do a definitive documentary about the band and its history. I know, we all heard it before, but let’s see if Parker goes beyond Paul and Gene’s version of KISS events and goes and speaks to all the members of the band, past and present, that are still alive. The name of the documentary is You Wanted The Best You Got The Best. It just started filming in NY. No release date out yet.

Humble Pie’s Rockin’ The Fillmore will be coming out as a 4 disc set on October 29. Peter Frampton and Jerry Shirley oversaw the production. It is recordings over the two-night performance at the Fillmore (5/28 /71 and 5/29/71).

Bob Dylan recorded a song called Pretty Saro (many times I understand) but never released it. You can now hear it before it gets released on August 27. Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights just added a scary 3D maze that features Black Sabbath: 13 3D. It debuts on September 20th. It will also feature other Black Sabbath tracks like Iron Man and War Pigs.
