Myles Kennedy Releases Title Track “Ides Of March” And It’s Epic!
Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge, Slash) has his second solo album coming out on May 14th titled “Ides Of March”. You can pre-order a copy here. Today Kennedy released the title track. The song has so many facets to it that it blew me away. You get all the vocal prowess that Kennedy delivers but so it’s so much more. I don’t recall hearing him do all this in one song like this. Just amazing! The music starts of soft, you think you might be getting a ballad, but it kicks up a notch and then Kennedy’s vocals come back in and the music changes again. It’s like that throughout the track but later in the single it has an epic jam. Kennedy reminds you he is more than a voice with his guitar playing.
The song is over 7 minutes long but it’s worth every second. This one will be on your playlist. You will be sharing this with your friends. All I know is this is my most anticipated album for this year. From what I have heard thus far, it’s going to be just what the doctor ordered. The song could be the theme of the pandemic, especially when you hear verses like this:
“And if you listen very closely And don’t throw caution to the wind Take it easy take it slowly You’ll save yourself before the end”
That is a very poetic way to say you will survive this thing. Kennedy saying no matter what your hell is there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The video is the vinyl version o the album and a needle going down and the song starts. I think it makes you focus on the song, which is a very good thing. Check it out below.
