Big news is that Slayer’s Jeff Hanneman died this past week. He was 49 and died of liver failure in a hospital. He is going to be missed and there is a huge outpouring throughout the metal community.

Jethro Tull are set to release a four DVD disc set spanning their career on June 25. It will feature the band 35 years of concerts. It spans from 1970 to 2005.
The Rock Allegiance Festival line up has been announced: Volbeat, HIM, All That Remains and Airbourne. No dates as of yet but something you might keep an eye out for. Tom Hamilton is leaving the current Aerosmith tour due to health reasons. They have only a few dates left. He is still in the band. No announcement for who his replacement is as of yet.
Livenation is announcing a concert called Boston Strong: An Evening Of Support And Celebration. The ticket proceeds go to The One Fund. Featured artists are: New Kids On The Block, Aerosmith, Boston, Godsmack, J. Geils, Jimmy Buffett, James Taylor and Extreme. I’m sure there will be more added, as well as some comedians. Tickets on sale May 6th. The show is on May 30th at TD Bank North. This is for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.
