Canada’s Coney Hatch is releasing a new album on September 24th called Four. You may remember them from the 1980’s. They basically were an opening act for most of the metal and hard rock acts of the time. They did release a single and a video for their new album called Blown Away. From the ”Just Because Department”, Fergie and her actor husband, Josh Duhamel, named their first born Axl after Axl Rose. She is a well know G’n’R fan.

The band The National are curating a tribute album to the Grateful Dead with a bunch of other bands out of the norm like Vampire Weekend and Ben Iver. It will be released sometime in 2014.

The Who will be releasing a Super Deluxe version of Tommy on November 11th. It will feature 20 unreleased demos and a full live performance of Tommy.

HIM will be premiering their new video Into The Night on Vevo this coming Tuesday, so be on the lookout for it.

Deep Purple will be releasing a box set, featuring Mach II, III and IV line up albums. It will be a 10 CD set. It will be called The Complete Albums 1970 – 1976. It will be released on October 8th.

Dan McCafferty , vocalist of Nazareth, has announced his retirement. In recent shows he has collapsed on stage. He is being treated for lung disease. I guess this will be the end of Nazareth, or maybe just the end of touring. We wish him the best in his recovery.

For the KISS fans in Japan, KISS will be releasing a special 2 disc Monster tour edition for their up and coming shows there on October 16. More details to be revealed at a later date.

In case you are tracking these things, there are three groups up to be considered for the Super Bowl Half Time Show. They are Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel and Bon Jovi. I’m guessing that Bon Jovi wins this one.
