Pink Floyd Releases A True Classic “Wish You Were Here’ From 1994!
Pink Floyd has released a new performance clip from their current box set “The Later Years: 1987-2019”. Wish You Were Here, which first appeared on the bands 1975 album by the same name, is part of the box set taken from their 1995 concert film “Pulse”. It was restored & re-edited in 2019 from the original tape masters. It took place on October 20, 1994 at Earls Court, London, UK.
Obviously this is one of the fan favorites from the band. I don’t know of anyone that dislikes it and seeing it in this live format is amazing. I actually think the words in the song have some meaning for what’s going on today;
“How I wish, how I wish you were here We’re just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl Year after year Running over the same old ground What have we found? The same old fears Wish you were here”
For some reason that resonates with me about what’s going on today, either politically or with the virus. Check out this incredible live performance of the song below.
